Vocal Program

Singing can be used to soothe 'the savage beast' or 'a loved one in pain'. Artful singing can entertain or inspire the world. Learning how to sing properly helps us to develop our full potential: emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We offer choir for children and private voice lessons for all ages.

Elementary Children's Choir

Our elementary children's choir is a beginning voice class for children ages 7 - 10 years. The class offers specialized training in note reading, vocal techniques, and ensemble singing. Students work on breathing and vocal exercises to develop vocal strength and accuracy of pitch and range. They develop ensemble skills through singing games, rounds, call and response, and development of repertoire.

Classes meet for 50 minutes, once a week, for 16 weeks. This includes 15 class sessions and 2 performances.

Tuition: $140.40 if paid in full or $39.00 per month

Intermediate Children's Choir

Our intermediate children's choir is for children ages 11 - 15 years. This class offers more in-depth study of vocal technique and performance skills than the elementary children's choir. Activities focus around developing vocal strength, accuracy of pitch and range, and note reading. The children practice solo and ensemble music and have the opportunity to perform in several venues at the end of the semester.

Classes meet for 50 minutes, once a week, for 16 weeks. This will include 15 class sessions and 2 performances.

Supplemental Private Voice Lessons

These lessons are only available to those students enrolled in the elementary or intermediate choir. Focus will be on pitch, phonation, enunciation, breathing and articulation, as well as basic music knowledge using current choir music as lesson material.

Lessons are available on a bi-weekly and monthly schedule. Bi-weekly lessons would be scheduled on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. Monthly lessons would be scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Tuition: Bi-weekly: $30.00 per month for two 30 minute lessons
Monthly: $15.00 per month for one 30 minute lesson

Private Voice Lessons

Private lessons are available for adults and children, 7 years and older. They are available, upon request, for beginning and intermediate students. Please call to schedule lessons.

Monthly lessons are made up of four 30 minute sessions.

Tuition: $60.00 per month
Materials: $20 every 4 months
